For the 2023 FIBA World Cup, the USA team will be handed down to Steve Kerr to coach and it will be up to him to train the team to win the championship. With Steve as the coach, it’s going to be so much interesting to see the awesome performance and new tactics the team will use to win.

Now that Kerr is in charge, he has selected some players to be part of the team and one of them is Austin Reaves, a player from Los Angeles Lakers. Both on the court and in personal life Reaves is a star and has a huge fan base. His skill as a player are outstanding and it’s the right choice for Kerr to choose him.

Kerr even gave the reason to the media why he selected Reaves.

“After watching him kick our butt for six straight games in the Western Conference semis, it was a pretty easy choice,” Kerr said.

“Austin is one of the rising young players in this league. What you look for in FIBA is versatility. You want size defensively and the ability to switch and guard multiple positions, and then you want playmaking. You want guys who can make shots but also put the ball on the floor and are good passers.”

The really funny part about that is that out of all the rounds he participated in throughout this year’s playoffs, Reaves put up his worst numbers against Golden State.

Reaves’ score is 14.3 points per game on 41.8 percent shooting and three assists against the Warriors were down from 16.9 points and 4.6 assists in the entire postponement. His performance was so great that he was even rewarded by the Lakers with a four-year, $54 million extension and became a role player for the team.

Now let’s wait and see what happens next.
