Kyrie Irving’s Expletive Response to Mavericks Situation
Dallas Mavericks are in a complete mess since they traded Kyrie Irving two months ago. Counting their loss against the Philadelphia 76ers, now they have lost 5 games out of all the 6 games they have participated in. Mavericks’ current score is 37-40 and they only have 5 games left in the play-in tournament.
Previously in the season, with Irving and Luka Doncic as a pair, Dallas Mavericks were seen as the title contender for the series which is the complete opposite of their situation. They are continuously going through a meltdown. If they lose any more matches, it will be hard for them to recover from their current situation.
Some blame Irving for Mavericks’ current score but it’s not entirely his fault. Whether Irving can be blamed is still up for question. Despite all of this, Irving certainly recognizes the severe troubles the Mavericks are going through and sums up the team’s situation in a quite interesting comment after the game.
“It’s kind of a little bit of a cluster(expletive) right now,” Irving told reporters, per ESPN’s Tim Bontemps.
Despite the 116-108 road loss to the 76ers, Irving’s performance was not bad. He scored 23 points by making eight of his 17 shots and also contributed six rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
However, during the first quarter, Irving engaged in an argument with a 76ers fan who was sitting courtside. He seemed to want the fan to be removed from the arena, but it doesn’t seem like that happened. It’s worth noting that during a previous road loss to the Charlotte Hornets, Irving had a fan removed from the stands as well.
Mavericks will have to do something to improve their situations but whether they can do that or not is something we will have to wait and see in upcoming matches. But considering Irving’s attitude, he doesn’t inspire any confidence that it will turn out well.
