Kyrie Irving comments on the Nets’ loss to Celtics with 43-points and the difference between the teams, said: “We were just one of those teams in the way”
Kyrie Irving broke the ice on the Brooklyn Nets’ 139-96 points loss against the Boston Celtics. He said that “it’s evident that there’s a gulf between the two teams and that Joe Mazzulla’s side is determined to win the championship.”
Irving didn’t bother to admit that his team felt like just another “one of those teams”.
Irving told the reporter Alex Schiffer that “It’s clear as day that they want to win the championship and they’re not wasting any time in the regular season. So tonight I just felt like we were just one of those teams in the way. We’ve got to be one of those teams that stands up to them.”
The Brooklyn Nets hit the ground without Kevin Durant, the other side the Boston Celtics came with their full strength. Boston easily dominated Brooklyn and they fell behind 46-16 in the first quarter.
With that Brooklyn only scored six goals and two threes and contributed to a 30-point deficit by the end of the first quarter. Irving himself finished with 20 points while Cam Thomas added 19 for Brooklyn. This defeat made Kyrie Irving cry, but it hasn’t been enough.
The Brooklyn Nets need to play beyond their potential, being nonchalant about the injuries. They should not be more bothered about the absence of Kevin Durant otherwise the Nets will remain weak to the other serious contending teams.
