Kluivert suggests two striker signings for FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona suggested to sign Firmino and Goncalo Ramos.
In Saturday’s press, former Barcelona striker Patrick Kluivert suggested that the Blaugrana must go into the market for a backup striker who can develop under Robert Lewandowski.
What did Kluivert have to say?
“Financial fair play is something you have to take into account, but who is on my wish list? It definitely has to be a striker. Because after Lewandowski you need to have a centre-forward.
“I like Goncalo Ramos a lot. I like that player and he has done a very good job for the Portugal national team and also at Benfica. Firmino at Barca, I think, would also be a very interesting player.
“A striker is what is needed to empower Barcelona. The rest is fine if they all stay.”
About Firmino and Ramos
Roberto Firmino’s contract at Liverpool runs out in the summer. This means that the Brazilian can walk away as a free agent. It is being reported that the centre forward is keen on playing for the Catalans.
Meanwhile, Goncalo Ramos, the Portuguese sensation who broke into fame after netting a World Cup hat-trick against Switzerland. The striker is currently plying his trade in Portugal for Benfica where he has contract until 2026. Thus, any team interested will have to spend big to acquire his signature in the summer. Therefore, Barcelona will not push into signing in Qatar, is contracted with Benfica until 2026 which means the Catalans are unlikely to even negotiate with Benfica.
