Last week Kirk Herbstreit’s son Zac was hospitalized due to a serious heart condition. Zac Herbstreit who plays for Ohio State is in much more stable condition now and was discharged from the hospital a few days ago.

It will take some time to heal Zac properly from his medical condition and finally get cleared so he can play football again. Although he and his dad Kirk Herbstreit attends the MLB Game.

In an interview with “The Pat McAfee Show,” Kirk revealed his son’s health and recovery.

American Sportscaster Kirk said, “We had a setback with Zak, with his health, this past Friday. So really the last five or six days have been kind of a whirlwind of he’s been in the hospital with some issues with his heart, and we’ve just been trying to keep up with that,”

He added, “We brought him home yesterday, which is great, but it’s not like, normally you get out of the hospital and you’re cured and everything’s good. He’s in good spirits, he’s home with us, where his mom can take really good care of him. And this is just going to be a long process to kind of see how his heart responds to some of the medications that he’s on. And this is like a three- or four-month kind of thing to kind of see how it recovers.”

Apparently, Zac appeared healthy enough to attend the baseball game with his father at the Cincinnati Reds game. He also shared a video of father and son enjoying the victory of the Reds.

Kirk posted on his Twitter, “Took Zak to his first @Reds game in years and we were greeted with the best game of the year,”

Kirk said, “Elly is so special-just does things that few can do. This was his triple to get the cycle-1st for the Reds since ED in ‘89. So cool to see the energy in what has been an awful home field for YEARS-city is falling in love with this young team and it’s incredible to see. Sorry, the video is so bad we were going crazy and trying to film it. 12 in a row!!!!! 12!!!!! And beating good teams! This team plays the game the right way..and EVERYONE is contributing. It’s awesome!! Thanks for a great night RedLegs-Zak had a blast.”

This seems to be a positive update on Zac’s health. We wish him a speedy recovery.
