Kirby Smart Provides Update on Injured Wide Receiver Ladd McConkey
Georgia is gearing up for a Saturday showdown against South Carolina, following victories over UT Martin and Ball State.
In preparation for Week 3’s clash with the Gamecocks, head coach Kirby Smart shared an important update on wide receiver Ladd McConkey.
McConkey has been sidelined for both of this season’s opening games due to a back issue. The team is working tirelessly to get him back in action this week, but his status for Saturday’s game is still uncertain.
Smart expressed, “Ladd, day by day. We’re trying everything we can to get him back. He’s trying everything he can to get him back. I don’t really know how to answer other than I don’t know any more than I knew Saturday.”
Over his two seasons playing for the Bulldogs, McConkey has amassed an impressive 89 receptions, 1,209 yards, and 12 touchdowns.
The big question now is whether McConkey will be fit enough to make his debut in the 2023 season this upcoming weekend. We’ll have to wait and see.
