Kevin Durant’s Injury and its Impact on the Brooklyn Nets
With KD’s right knee injury, the Nets will have to forbid him from playing for at least two weeks.
The Brooklyn Nets have been performing exceptionally well for a while now. Kevin Durant played a leading role in most of the matches for Brooklyn. He scored averages of 30 points, 6.7 rebounds,1.5 blocks, and 5.3 assists per game while shooting a career-best 55.9 percent from the field.
Unfortunately, he will be out of the matches for quite some time. KD is going through a right knee injury. The MRI reports revealed that it was an MCL sprain yet another time. The first one was in the last season.
When and how did Durant get injured?
He suffered the injury during the third quarter of the Nets’ 102-101 win over Miami. It happened when Jimmy Butler, the opposing team’s guard, fell on Durant’s knee. KD managed to continue even after the injury. He remained in the game initially, but later, he went rubbing his knee and did not return to the game.
Duran and his sprain stories
Durant suffered the same kind of injury in the last season. He missed almost six weeks last season due to a left MCL sprain.
In 2017, Durant, while playing against the Golden State Warriors, suffered an MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise and had to abstain from matches for more than a month.
But this time, the injury seems less severe, and Durant will return soon.
He will not be able to play for at least two weeks as he needs to recover fully from the sprain. He was also ranked second in the MVP rankings. And somehow if Durant misses 10 games, due to his injury, he should still be in the MVP race.
