Kevin Durant suggests of pick-up game idea on ‘The Etcs’ podcast
The most crucial and interesting part of the NBA All-Star Game is the captains’ picking their draft for their teams.
The way they draft their team is a determining factor in the overall team’s performance. This time, Kevin Durant is the most-voted player in the 2023 All-Star Game from the Eastern Conference. This suggests that he is most likely to be the captain of the team. On the other side, LeBron has secured his place as a captain in the Western Conference.
The NBA has adopted a draft format for the All-Star Game according to which the players draft their teams on TNT over a video call, some days before the event. But this time Durant reflected upon the idea of picking the draft right before the match. He suggested in ‘The ETCs’ podcast:
“It’d be fire if we picked right before the game, though. In the locker room like ‘let me get him, let me get him. They can have the jerseys ready. It’d be so fire, to have 2 jerseys ready no matter what, we good. We got two pairs of shoes, you know what I mean? We giving the NBA ideas man, for free on ETCs.”
It seems Durant’s idea has reached the NBA and they are going to implement it in the upcoming event. It would be exciting to see captains choosing their teams right before the game.
Kevin Durant in the All-Star Game
Durant played in the 2019 All-Star Game with the Golden State Warriors. He was injured for a long time and was voted captain twice. He will return to the game, and it is a good time for him to prove that he is capable of defeating LeBron.
It will be fascinating to see who picks whom this time and how it all ends up.
