Kevin Durant is under pressure for being a top player
This week, a sizable portion of the NBA community descended on the state capital of Utah. Airport billboards, downtown murals, and decorated light rail trains hyped up the city’s first All-Star Weekend since 1993 when John Stockton and Karl Malone were in the middle of their legendary run as Jazz legends. Before the midseason showcase started on Friday, the Phoenix Suns officially welcomed Kevin Durant after a stunning deal with the Brooklyn Nets last week.
“I am one of the finest players who have ever played the game, so I am aware that there is always pressure because everyone expects me and the team I am on to perform admirably every time I go onto the court. Everyday progress in my game is fun for me. Getting to do this when I first wake up is fun “Durant responded in response to a question on championship expectations.
For an all-time great, Durant’s trip had an extremely high number of stops. After graduating from many high schools, he spent one season at the University of Texas before moving on to play his debut season with the Seattle SuperSonics, eight seasons with the Thunder when they relocated, three years with the Warriors, and three or more years with the Nets. He’ll join a focused squad in Phoenix, captained by Ishbia, Jones, Coach Monty Williams, and guards Devin Booker and Chris Paul, who almost missed winning the franchise’s first title in the 2021 Finals.
