Keane asks Ten Hag to resign
Ten Hag asked to resign after questionable dance
After a hilarious dance during United’s Carabao Cup celebration, Roy Keane called for Erik ten Hag to ‘resign’.
Ten Hag, who enjoyed similar success with Antony and Martinez at Ajax, rekindled the dance from their time in Holland.
It was during an interview with Sky Sports that the video of the manager dancing was played when he stood next to Roy Keane, Les Ferdinand and David Ginola.
Keane reacted funnily saying, ‘You should resign after that. You should resign. Tonight!’
How did Erik ten Hag respond?
‘I did it before,’ Ten Hag explained. ‘We have history together; we hope we can do it [more].’
Keane, despite joking about Ten Hag’s resignation also praise the manager and his work with the team. He went on to admire Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who was given the match ball for his brilliant performance.
What did Roy Keane have to say?
Keane said, ‘Look at the players’ reaction, the supporters, these players, the manager, they’re desperate for this success, it’s five, six, seven years for United now, that’s a long time.
‘They deserved the victory, they were efficient, two good goals. Long way back for Newcastle, they stuck at it, but [for] United hopefully the start of the good days coming back.
He added, ‘Casemiro is a brilliant player, we knew that, but sometimes you need to see him close up to see how good he is.
‘He’s adapted to the English game, he’s adding goals to his game, he’s a big personality, he’s won the big prizes before.
‘You look at the players’ reactions from United it looks like it’s the first trophy some of these have won, and these have had huge success in their careers so it goes to show they’re happy to be at a big club. I like players to argue, it means they care.’
Talking about Newcastle, who reached their first domestic final in 24 years, he said: ‘The next step for Newcastle is the hardest one.
‘There’s expectation now at the club. It’s ok getting to a final, but getting your hands on a trophy it’s very very difficult. They’re certainly on the right path.’
