Kay Adams criticizes the Denver Broncos’ “p*ss poor” defence for impeding Russell Wilson’s performance

Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos have had a rough start to the season. They’re 1-4 and coming off a humiliating defeat to the New York Jets, who Zach Wilson led.

Sean Payton was recruited to restore the club, but the Broncos have looked much worse this season than they did last. Their defense is the weakest in the league, and according to Kay Adams, it has let down Wilson, who is enjoying a stellar season.

On the Up and Adams Show, Adams stated:

“We’re underreacting to how well he’s played given how historically p*ss poor that defense has not shown up for Sean Payton and Russell Wilson and you Denver Broncos fans so far this year. He’s in the top five in touchdown-interception ratio and passer rating. But this team is not 1-4 because of him.”

“He has this offense ranked in the top 10. We haven’t seen a defense this bad or close to this bad in like 50 years. Only the 1950 Baltimore Colts have allowed more points per game in NFL history than what the Broncos are giving up right now.”

The Denver Broncos were defeated 70-20 by the Miami Dolphins in Week 3, and Sean Payton was humiliated by the Jets this week. Nathaniel Hackett exacted his vengeance on his former squad while the Broncos defense failed to contain Zach Wilson.

Russell Wilson has performed much better than the previous season, but with their defense allowing 36.2 points per game, the quarterback can’t lead his team to victory.

He has passed for 1,210 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions in five games this season, with a passer rating of 106.1.

Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos have a chance to redeem themselves in Week 6

In Week 6, Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos meet the Kansas City Chiefs. They have lost 15 consecutive games against their division opponents, and the rivalry has been one-sided since Peyton Manning retired.

If the Broncos pull off a surprising victory over the reigning champions on TNF, the narrative will shift. However, the chances of such happening are extremely remote.
