Katie Ledecky Ties Michael Phelps Record By Won Gold In Worlds Championship 2023

American Swimmer Katie Ledecky won the gold in 1500 meter swim in the Worlds Aquatic Championship 2023, tied with Legend swimmer Michael Phelps’ record.

Katie Ledecky is a world-class swimmer and she proved it again on Tuesday and set a new record. She’s now the first swimmer to ever win five world titles in two different events.

26-year-old Katie won the Gold in the 1500-meter freestyle race in style finishing the race before 17 seconds than anyone else.

NBC Olympics & Paralympics posted Katie’s achievement on the Twitter account with the caption,

“THAT’S KATIE LEDECKY!

@katieledecky is the first person to win five world titles in two different events AND she ties Michael Phelps for the most individual world golds in swimming (15). And she won this 1500m free world title by 17 seconds.”

Ledecky is the only swimmer in the world who tied up with the legend Michael Phelps’s record of the 15 most individual world gold medals. There’s a fair chance by the end of the 2024 Summer Olympics she could surpass the Michael Phelps.

Katie finished the swim race in 15 minutes and 26.27 seconds, 17 seconds earlier than the rest of the swimmers. Although she couldn’t make it up in the 400-meter swim race.

In an interview with ESPN, Katie Ledecky said, “I feel good. It hurt a lot, but I’m really happy with the outcome. I’m just having a lot of fun this week.”

Congratulations Katie for winning the Gold in the World Championship 2023.
