Kate Upton’s Legendary Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover recreated by a Model is Causing A Huge Stir
On Halloween, everyone loves to dress up in different costumes, and this year is no different.
A model Carlie Whalen chose to honor a famous photoshoot by another model. She recreated Kate Upton’s iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover from 2013 and shared the photos on Instagram.
Whalen’s recreation was spot-on, wearing a white coat just like Upton did a decade ago. She captioned her photo with “Kate the great,” and tagged Upton, Sports Illustrated, and SI Swim in her post.
Whalen also posed in a white swimsuit similar to the one Upton wore during the photoshoot in Antarctica, capturing the essence of the original shoot.
“Coming to Antarctica is a historical event because no other fashion magazine has come here before,” Upton said about doing her cover shoot in Antarctica.
“It was a huge honor to find out that Sports Illustrated picked me to come here. Even through the pain.”
Upton said that she braved the cold in order to get through the shoot, bundling up after each set of photos was taken.
“The second day shooting, I think the penguins were the only thing that kept me going because they are so adorable,” she said.
