Karun Nair’s early life and Education:

Karun Nair is from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. His parents Kaladharan Nair and Prema Nair hails from Chengannur in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. His mother Prema Nair is a school teacher at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bangalore. He also has an elder sister named Shruthi Nair.

Karun was a premature baby, on doctor’s advice he was enrolled in the cricket academy to make his lungs stronger. Nair joined Koramangala Cricket Academy on March 28, 2001, after his family shifted to Bangalore. His coach’s name was Shivanand. He used to study in the same school where his mother was a teacher. Later he switched and enrolled in the Frank Anthony Public School for better cricketing opportunities.

He is multi-lingual, he can speak English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil very fluently. Though his mother tongue is Malayalam.

Karun Nair made his First-Class debut for Karnataka in 2013. Nair has been bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.4 Crores ahead of IPL Season 2022.

Karun Nair’s Career Records:

Karun Nair in the 2013-14 season of Ranji Trophy hit a triple-century in the final league of the game. His title-winning performance made a new record.
In the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy, Karun accumulated 709 runs off 10 matches along with a knock of 328 in the final match against Tamil Nadu. Karun became the first batsman to score a triple century in a Ranji Trophy match.
In 2016, he was only 3 innings old in international cricket then, thus becoming the quickest batsman to hit a maiden triple-hundred in Test cricket history (in terms of number of matches played).

Karun Nair got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Sanaya Tankariwala on June 29th in 2019. Sanaya is a media professional. Later on 19th January 2020, the couple tied the knot and in July 2021 announced the pregnancy. Apart from cricket Karun is a big fan of Bollywood movies. Karun Nair struggled for life once when he alongwith 100 other passengers were on a boat, during the famous boat fest in Kerala ‘Aranmula Vallasadya’. The boat suddenly overturned in the river and all were about to get drowned but in no time rescue team was sent to bring them to the shore.
