Justin Langer prevents burglary at ‘Neighbour’ tennis legend Margaret Court’s house
Tennis icon Margaret Court received assistance from former Australia head coach Justin Langer after some of her honors and medals were allegedly taken during a break-in at her City Beach home on Australia Day. According to a WA Police official, the seaside home of Court, 80, and her husband Barry was the target of the attack on Thursday night.
Police in Western Australia confirmed the detention of two men. According to an official, “Perth detectives have charged two men in relation to an aggravated home burglary. It will be alleged about 8 pm, two men gained access to the premises via the front entrance door.”
“Once inside, it will be further alleged the accused rummaged through the victim’s property and stole a number of items including awards, medals and jewellery. A number of the items were located in nearby bushland and gardens.”
All the stolen articles were finally returned to her
Two men from Edgewater, 33 and 34, have been charged with aggravated home invasion and theft.
Except for her husband’s passport, she was relieved that the stolen articles had been returned to her. She even treated the suspects with kindness out of compassion.
“They were all returned, the police did a wonderful, wonderful job,” she stated. “All is good, all is fine, I pray for the young guys, I pray they come to know Christ.”
Langer, 52, and Matthew Hayden created one of the most renowned run-scoring combinations in Australian cricket history in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He led the national team for four years between 2018 and 2022, guiding them to two Ashes victories and the T20 World Cup. He did, however, resign under a storm of controversy.
