Jurgen Klopp on Salah missing the penalty against Bournemouth
Mohamed Salah misses a spot-kick against Bournemouth
It was a tough night for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they lost 1-0 away at Bournemouth. It was in the 28th minute that Dango Outtara outpaced Virgil Van Dijk and played a ball through for Billing who put the ball past Alisson.
However, it was Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah at the center of attention as the Egyptian missed from the penalty spot in the 70th minute. After that Liverpool did little to nothing to hurt Bournemouth.
What did Jurgen Klopp have to say?
While in conversation with BT Sport, Klopp said, “He [Salah] scores a lot of goals, he missed a penalty, that’s life.”
“Honestly, the last penalty we got… I don’t know when it was, in the league at least, it’s long ago. It’s completely hypothetical, but I think if we score there, it could turn. That doesn’t make the performance better, but it could change the result, that’s it,” the boss added.
It was the first that Salah failed to score a spot kick as the ball went wide and crushed the chances of Liverpool getting anything out of the game.
Harshly, it was not Bournemouth but Mohamed Salah who was the biggest problem for the Reds on the pitch.
