John Salley thinks LeBron James can play as long as Tom Brady did

When LeBron James was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003, he joined the NBA immediately after graduating from high school. Since joining the league, he has been playing at a very high level. He is still an incredible force on the floor twenty years after entering the NBA.

He has participated in all 17 of the LA Lakers’ games this season, averaging 25.1 points, 6.5 assists, and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

LeBron has played more than 66,000 minutes in his career, yet one of his most amazing feats to date has been to hold onto his supremacy. With more minutes played than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, he has surpassed him.

At his age, one might expect someone with that many miles to start deteriorating quickly, but he is obviously made differently. This is, at least, John Salley’s opinion after retiring from the NBA.

“This child was made to shoot hoops,” Salley said to Skip Bayless on Undisputed. This is what he was raised to do; isn’t it amazing? He emerged, his physique is powerful, and his intelligence surpasses everyone else’s.”

“Given that he appears to be stronger than ever right now, he can play as long as Tom Brady, perhaps until he is 45 years old. He appears more youthful than he did at 28.”

To put things in perspective, Tom Brady is regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and played in the NFL for 23 seasons until retiring at the age of 45.

Even though we don’t know when LeBron James would leave the NBA, it would be an incredible accomplishment if he could continue to play until he was 45 years old. LeBron may like to play until his sons join the NBA, which will please fans who have watched him play for this extended period of time.
