Jerry Jones Sticks to His Decision Regarding Jimmy Johnson, While Fans Await His Inclusion in Cowboys’ Ring of Honor

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and former head coach Jimmy Johnson, who were once college teammates at Arkansas, won two Super Bowls together and helped the Cowboys become a top team in the 1990s. However, their relationship turned sour as they both sought credit for the team’s success, eventually leading to Johnson leaving the Cowboys.

Despite Jimmy Johnson’s accomplishments, Jerry Jones has chosen not to put him in the Cowboys’ Ring of Honor.

When asked why, Jones said, “It’s not about that. It’s about who I am going to put in the Ring of Honor.”

Jones mentioned that the team will announce more people for the Ring of Honor, including a few coaches who deserve to be there alongside Johnson.

While Jones didn’t mention the names of these other deserving coaches, there’s no denying Johnson’s significant impact on Cowboys football. He played a crucial role in making the team a powerhouse and developing star players like Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith.

Fans believe that Jimmy Johnson deserves his spot in the Cowboys’ Ring of Honor, and they eagerly await the day he will be added to the esteemed list of Cowboys legends.
