Jennette McCurdy, who is she? A closer look at Andre Drummond’s ex-girlfriend, who slammed him for terrible ‘kissing.’
Jennette McCurdy, a former ‘iCarly’ actress, opened up about her brief romance with former Detroit Piston Andre Drummond on Pete Holmes’ podcast, ‘You Made It Weird.’ Following McCurdy’s remarks regarding her connection with the four-time NBA rebounding leader, Drummond, we look at her career and how she met him.
Jennette McCurdy was born on June 26, 1992, and rose to prominence as Sam Puckett in the Nickelodeon comedy ‘iCarly,’ which aired from 2007 to 2012 and for which she received four Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. She returned to the role in the spin-off series ‘Sam & Cat’ in 2013-14, and she has also acted in other TV shows such as ‘Malcolm in the Middle,’ ‘Victorious,’ and ‘Zoey 101.’
McCurdy has experimented with music, releasing the first single ‘So Close’ in 2009 and a number of albums, including ‘Not That Far Away’ in 2010 and ‘Jennette McCurdy’ two years later.
In 2020, McCurdy will host the podcast ‘Empty Inside’ and compose the one-woman tragicomedy play ‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’. McCurdy published a book with the same title in August 2022, delving into her past struggles with eating disorders and living with an abusive mother.
McCurdy dated Andre Drummond, a rookie with the Detroit Pistons at the time. Even though the two only dated for a brief time, the two-time NBA All-Star began the romance by reaching out via direct messaging on the social media site.
Jennette McCurdy admitted on Pete Holmes’ ‘You Made It Weird’ podcast that she had misgivings about dating André Drummond at first. The laser tag date and the first kiss that didn’t go well were deal-breakers for her.

“My first kiss with him happened after we went laser tagging.” I jumped up on a chair and went for it. But it wasn’t fantastic. It did not go well. There are no flames and no mouth. “The shapes were off,” McCurdy told Hollywood Life.
Despite the lack of connection, the six-foot-ten centre lavished her with presents and proposed to her over dinner. She ended the relationship a few days after hesitantly accepting it, alleging a lack of connection.
