Jayson Tatum’s Brutally Honest Reaction to Marcus Smart’s Trading News, Celtics

The news of Marcus Smart, an American professional basketball player was traded to Memphis Grizzlies by Celtics this week instantly blew up the internet. This news got a reaction from many peoples including Jayson Tatum.

Smart was the NBA Defensive Player of the Year and has been with Celtics for nine-season before their partnership ended. Since Smart is known for being one of the most outspoken members of the team, his departure will probably create a lack of leadership within the team.

There is no doubt that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both outstanding players and are better than Smart in terms of gameplay but when it comes to the “taking charge” personality that Smart has, they fall behind.

Due to this Tatum gave a reaction to Smart’s trading news in his Instagram story.

Considering how important Smart was to the Celtics, the reactions from people around the league to his departure were quite dramatic.

“They are changing the shape of their team in making this trade, but they are also admitting that the shape of their team wasn’t a championship team,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said on ‘First Take’ on Thursday.

“The way that their mix didn’t work. One of the things about that team — and I don’t think it’s because of Marcus — for some reason that team has focus problems. They also have a bit of a roster balance problem.”
