Jared Goff’s old Tupac tweet has reemerged in the wake of his Lions’ Thanksgiving loss
Without question, Jared Goff is the finest quarterback in the NFC North right now, leading the Detroit Lions to the division’s best record.
On Thanksgiving, however, the world was reminded of his team’s previous troubles, as the visiting Green Bay Packers won 29-22.
During and after the game, detractors of the former Los Angeles Rams quarterback dug deep into his Twitter past and discovered this message from ten years ago:
My grandpa telling me old cop stories and brings up “some punk named tupac shakur” that he arrested back in the day. My grandpa is a #boss
— Jared Goff (@JaredGoff16) February 25, 2013
Then they flipped around and blamed it on his recent performance:
This why he play like a bitch. He has generations of BITCH in him. https://t.co/0vKiiJe6Rl

Fumbles by Jared Goff are to blame for the Lions’ Thanksgiving defeat to the Packers.
If there is one word to describe Jared Goff’s performance on Thursday, it is “fumble.”
Last Sunday, the three-time Pro Bowler threw three more interceptions than touchdowns (two), but the Detroit Lions still won the game after turning their opponents’ last drive into a safety.
They were not as fortunate on Thanksgiving. Goff had three fumbles, one of which was returned for a score by safety Jonathan Owens. Rashan Gary sacked him three times, the latest of which resulted in one of those fumbles.
Following that, he told reporters:
“There is no rhyme or reason. I usually examine them individually to see what I might have done better, and sometimes there is a solution and sometimes there isn’t. But, in general, it is my responsibility to look after the football, and I must do it well. “Turnovers in the first half have undoubtedly been an issue in the past two games, putting us behind and, as a result, contributing to our loss today… The last two games have not met our expectations.”
But he refused to point the finger at his offensive line:
“I probably could’ve got rid of the ball a bit quicker on some of those as well.”
Dan Campbell, head coach, agreed with his quarterback:
“It has to start with turnovers; we can’t turn the ball over.” We need to find a means to get takeout, so let’s start there and work out the rest.”
The Lions did come back due to a couple of two-point conversions, but their last-ditch onside kick attempt was recovered by Jayden Reen, thereby terminating the game.
