James Milner drops hint on his Liverpool future
Milner hints at future at Anfield amid contract talks
As James Milner received an MBE, he admitted his desire to prolong his time at Anfield.
The 37-year-old is in the final year of his contract which he renewed after winning the quadruple with Liverpool last summer. Despite not being a starter, Klopp has immense trust in the 3-time Premier League Winner.
The English midfielder expressed that he would love to keep playing for the Reds ahead of this season.
What did Milner have to say?
When asked whether he is enjoying football at the age of 37, Milner said, “It’s easy to say yes after the result we had at the weekend obviously.”
“I think everyone you speak to Kammy [Chris Kamara] he was saying you should play as long as you can. I feel very fortunate to be playing at an amazing club like Liverpool, in an amazing team that I’m playing with. I feel like I can still contribute and I feel good physically the majority of days so I’ll keep working hard.
“I just want to keep contributing to a massive club like Liverpool and hopefully make an impact both on and off the field.”
This season, the veteran midfielder has made 30 appearances thanks to his versatility despite making just 10 starts.
