James Harden’s amazing gesture for Michigan State shooting victim
The Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden got viral after his amazing gesture for John Hao this week.
The 20-year-old John Hao, a student at Michigan State, has been a victim of a shooting at the university earlier. He got paralyzed from the chest down after getting shot.
Harden’s heartwarming gesture for Hao
It was revealed on Thursday, by ESPN’s Malika
Andrews that Harden FaceTimed Hao, who is also a fan of Harden, while he was in the hospital. Hao was surprised by Harden with some sneakers and he also contributed to Hao’s medical page, GoFundMe, which was supposed to provide medical help and expenses.
Harden consoled Hao on the call and said,
“Everything will work itself out, be strong. You’re alright. You’ll be alright, I promise you are.”
He then added,
“I love when you’re smiling too. I love when you’re smiling alright, I’m with you. I know it’s tough right now but you have to stay physically strong … You just gotta think positive things.”
A huge part of the GoFundMe was paid by Harden, the page got over $350,000 within a week. The link to Hao’s page can be viewed on GoFundMe.
Harden has been an NBA MVP in 2018 and is averaging 21.4 points, and 10.8 assists per game this season.
