James Harden trade analysis: Who did the Clippers give up to get the star point guard?
James Harden has been sent to the Los Angeles Clippers. The former MVP has spent the summer attempting to leave the Philadelphia 76ers. Daryl Morey has been adamant about getting Terance Mann as part of any trade. Nonetheless, he has definitely shifted his position in the past 24 hours.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers will send Marcus Morris, Nic Batum, Robert Covington, and KJ Martin to the Sixers, along with several lottery selections and pick swaps.
As part of the transaction, Los Angeles will obtain James Harden, PJ Tucker, and Filip Petrusev. The deal brings an end to the summer’s longest-running story. Harden has returned to his chosen destination and will now be part of a “big four” with Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George. The Clippers’ depth has been maintained as they have added another future Hall of Famer to their roster.
The Clippers also held Mann, who had previously said that he was not available for trade. Mann has been a standout for the Clippers and is thought to be the turning factor for any prospective trade. Morey’s decision to complete the transaction allows the Sixers to concentrate on the next season completely. It provides Nick Nurse with a flexible new squad of players to incorporate into his system.

The Clippers now have a great starting five, with Harden and Westbrook joining George and Leonard in the rotation. Throughout the roster, there is scoring variety and playmaking skill. The Los Angeles Clippers have definitely increased their goal to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy at the end of the season.
Ty Lue, on the other hand, will now have the arduous challenge of mixing his four stars. When they are at their best, Westbrook and Harden are both ball-dominant. Leonard and George will command more touches and are expected to see more action. The Clippers will be among the greatest teams in the NBA if they can work things out and remain healthy.
Los Angeles has taken a gamble by bringing in Harden. That gamble might pay off with a title. And if things don’t work out, they won’t be bound to him for years. The Clippers won this trade over the Sixers.
