Ja Morant is suspended by Memphis Grizzlies Due to Gun Video

In Ja Morant’s latest Instagram video, he appeared holding a gun in his hand pointing it at the camera in a nightclub. This video was made at the center of attraction on social media and was suspended by Memphis Grizzlies.

Following Morant’s suspension, Grizzlies released a statement that said that Morant “Morent will be away from the team for at least two games,”. That means in the upcoming match against LA Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers, we won’t see Morant playing.

23-years old Morant one of the brightest stars of the league is now subjected to a series of off-case incidents.

“I take full responsibility for my actions last night,” Morant said in a statement.

“I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Mamphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down.”

“I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being,” he added.

After the video broke out on the internet on Saturday morning, Morant deactivated both his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

“We are aware of a social media post involving Ja Morant and are investigating,” NBA spokesperson Mike Bass said in a statement on Saturday.

Before this gun incident, the two-time NBA All-Star was also accused of hitting a 17-years old boy during a pickup basketball game in his Tennessee house, according to the reports provided by U.S. media. Even though this was a serious crime, no charges were filed against Morant.

According to the Washington post’s Police records, the boy who was hit by Morant accused him 12-13 times during the basketball game. The boy reported that after the altercation, Morant went inside the house and “re-emerged with a gun visible in the waistband of his pants.” Morant refuses to accept his actions and said that he “swung first” and when the boy through a basketball that hit his head, he acted in self-defense.

“Any of the dozens of witnesses will confirm Ja acted in self-defense and that he did not have a firearm,” said Morant’s agent Jim Tanner.

Even before this incident, Mamphis hall’s security head reported to police that they are feeling threatened by Morant and some of his staff Members.
