Italian Teenage Cyclist Jacopo Dies During Junioren Rundfahrt Race In Austria
Another cyclist lost his life because of a brutal fall during the race.
Italian teenage cyclist Jacopo Venzo was killed during a bike race in Austria.
17-year-old Jacopo Venzo died on Friday after a crash during the first stage of the Junioren Rundfahrt, Austria.
Venjo fell on the downhill during the first stage of the Tour of Upper Austria. He was immediately flown to the Kepler clinic in Linz but they already lost him.
Jacopo’s team Campana Imballaggi Geo&Tex Trentino announced his death in an official statement,
The team said, “With tears in our eyes and devastated hearts, we announce that our junior Jacopo Venzo has left us. The boy had been the victim of a very bad fall yesterday on the downhill during the first stage of the Tour of Upper Austria.
“Jacopo was an extraordinary young man with a future all to write in sports and especially in life, and for that it hurts even more. We ask that the family’s privacy be respected, and we thank everyone who will make us feel their support.”
This is another accident that happened due to the danger of downhill. Last month in June Gino Mader died at Tour De Suisse, Switzerland.
The tour has been canceled after the unfortunate incident.
Our prayers are with Venjo’s family and friends.
