Islam Makhachev admitted that Alexander Volkanovski  is quite strong

Alexander Volkanovski lost to Islam Makhachev after so many arguments. Nevertheless, after a back-and-forth struggle, Makhachev won over Volkanovski to retain his title. However, not everyone was pleased with his victory, and many fans began to criticize Makhachev on social media. Even some UFC champions came out in Volkanovski’s defense and everyone was waiting for Makhachev’s response on this topic, but when he responded, it was surprising. Makhachev, who frequently made fun of Alexander Volkanovski, unexpectedly acknowledged that Volkanovski is a strong competitor.

“I told all media I’m going to try knock him out,” Islam Makhachev admitted in a press conference after the match  “I landed many good punches, good knees, but this guy is so strong.” he added “I always believe my striking, I have good skills. I have good coaches in my team: coach Javier, coach Muhammad, and all my corners. You know, the best in the world. I know my skills. That’s why I try to knock him out, but this guy’s so strong. I landed many good punches, many good knees, but he still fighting. I give him big cut, but this guy is a real champion.”
