On Friday Night Smackdown (March 17, 2023) Rey Mysterio confronted his son Dominick and said that the biggest regret in his (Rey) life is what you (Dominick) have become now, and as a father, it would be a disgrace if he accepts Dom’s challenge to a fight at the Grandest Stage of Them All WrestleMania 39. Even though Rey has denied it more than twice to face his own son at WM 39, it is still being reported backstage that this match is going to be made official at the last minute. In the upcoming 2 episodes of Smackdown Live, we will witness the storyline buildup of this match.

According to reports, Dom will continue to push the limits of his father Rey Mysterio with the help of Judgement Day. If we recall the situation of John Cena vs Undertaker’s WrestleMania 34 match’s buildup, Taker didn’t accept the challenge until the WrestleMania telecast goes on air. Dom will keep pushing the boundaries so that he gets what he wants; a match against his father at the Grandest Stage of Them All on April 1 & 2, 2023.
