Is Luka Doncic playing tonight against Detroit Pistons?
Luka Doncic has not been cleared to play by the Dallas Mavericks following their game against Real Madrid. On Friday, October 20, they will play their last preseason game against the Detroit Pistons at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The game will be broadcast on the Bally Sports SW-DAL and Bally Sports DET networks.
Doncic has been ruled out of the Dallas Mavericks preseason finale, with only one game remaining before the start of the regular season.
According to ESPN’s Tim McMahon, Doncic was hurt at a Dallas Mavericks practice on October 9. As a result, he only played five minutes against Real Madrid, his old European team.
Coach Jason Kidd stated that Doncic will be reevaluated later’ and voiced confidence about his availability for the Mavericks’ first game against the San Antonio Spurs on October 24. He also stated that throughout sessions, Doncic has been confined to solely using the exercise bike and spot shooting.

With the start of the 2017 NBA season approaching, the Dallas Mavericks guard tandem of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic will play their first full season together, which has basketball fans, including sports expert Reggie Miller, thrilled.
In a conference call with select NBA reporters, the NBA great stated that he is most interested to see how the pair of Irving and Doncic perform on the floor.
“You’ve got two players [Irving and Doncic] that I want to see on a nightly basis that can give you 50-plus [points] but will be leading off SportsCenters with some type of double-triple-crossover; an unbelievable pass; making someone touch Mother Earth from a crossover; and giving you buckets,” Miller went on to say.
Since joining the Dallas Mavericks in a midseason trade, Kyrie Irving has averaged 27.0 points, 6.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game. Meanwhile, in the 2022–23 season, Doncic had his greatest scoring average of 32.4 points per game, along with 8.6 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
