Is Luka Doncic playing tonight against Brooklyn Nets?
On October 25, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in a thrilling opening night victory that was made possible by Luka Doncic’s outstanding play, which included a triple-double. Following a day off, the squad is getting ready for their home crowd for their second regular season game on Friday, October 27, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
The tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time, and fans who wish to watch the action may do so via the Bally Sports SW-DAL and Yes! Network live television broadcasts.
Luka Doncic’s left calf strain sustained during preseason game practice before facing his old basketball team, Real Madrid, made him unlikely to play in the opening game.
Doncic was able to play on the first day and finish with his typical all-around stats of 33 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 triples, 2 steals, and 1 block.
Thankfully, Luka Doncic showed no symptoms of slowing down against the Spurs, demonstrating that he is ready for the regular season. He will be allowed to suit up for the Mavericks when they take on the Brooklyn Nets in their first home game.
Coach Jason Kidd is a huge fan of Luka Doncic and youngster Derek Lively II’s relationship
Along with rookie Derek Lively II’s impressive adjustment in his debut game alongside the Slovenian star, Mavs head coach Jason Kidd also gave thanks to Luka Doncic for his triple-double performance against the Spurs.
“[Lively] was excellent on both ends once more. Kidd was commended during the press conference held after the game for his ability to rebound the ball, modify shots, and provide the team with second or third chances. “It’s not easy playing with Luka [Doncic] because Luka is going to throw it, and he expects you to catch and finish, and he had some great lobs tonight.”
After coming off the bench, Derek Lively II outperformed fellow rookie Victor Wembanyama, who finished with just 15 points and five rebounds, by finishing with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
