Is John Cena going to be the Cover Star for WWE 2K23?
Rumors about the potential cover art, specifically who is on it, have started to circulate since “WWE 2K23” is expected to be announced over the next WWE Royal Rumble weekend.
An existing addition to this year’s presentation was hinted at by social media posts from last week that displayed a cross-gen edition of the video game. If the rumors come out to be true, it would be John Cena‘s first featured cover since “WWE 2K15.” Cena, a 16-time WWE Champion.
In response to the hype, “The Champ” posted his own, faceless, version of the cover on Instagram, possibly portraying his well-known “You Can’t See Me” tagline.
The official statement of Cena as the cover of this year’s video game has not been made, but while the two were in town for “WWE SmackDown” on December 30, Cena filmed a segment with social media opponent and active WWE Superstar Austin Theory. The same day, Cena rejoined the blue brand and teamed up with Kevin Owens to defeat Sami Zayn and “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns.
Multiple well-known WWE Superstars, including Rey Mysterio, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Johnny Gargano, Dominik Mysterio, and Damian Priest, are said to have shot content for “2K23” as the reveal date approaches. Additionally, Cody Rhodes, who recently announced the date of his return to the WWE after a prolonged injury, came to Hollywood, the location of this year’s WWE WrestleMania, to film a commercial for the game with The Miz, a two-time Grand Slam Champion.
