With the fourth overall pick and Jones’ future unknown, New York picks North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye as the second quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Maye, a reliable pocket thrower, is one of the best quarterback prospects in the next draft.
In his two seasons as the Tar Heels’ quarterback, Maye has completed 66.4 per cent of his passes for 7,213 yards, 59 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. On the ground, he has 1,014 yards and 13 touchdowns.
The Giants choose Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell in the second round of the Sportskeeda 2024 NFL Mock Draft to provide offensive support for Maye or Jones. This season, the junior wideout transferred from Georgia to Texas and had 37 receptions for 576 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s a powerful 6’4″, 196-pound wide receiver with strong ball skills.
New York adds further offensive aid in the third round of the draft with the selections of OG Christian Haynes of UConn and TE Ben Sinnott of Kansas State. Haynes was selected as a preseason All-American and is now averaging more than 17 yards per catch.
