“If Emma Raducanu is mentally all in, I can help her win again and again”- Rick Macci, Serena Williams’ former coach

Rick Macci, Serena Williams’ childhood coach, has indicated interest in tutoring British tennis star Emma Raducanu. Macci even feels he can assist her in achieving success.

Raducanu has been out of play since April 2023 due to several injuries. Her most recent participation was at the Stuttgart Open, where she was defeated in the first round by Jelena Ostapenko.

She was supposed to compete against Viktoriya Tomova in the Madrid Open, but she backed out. Later that month, she had additional surgery on her wrists and left ankle.

Raducanu rose to prominence after winning her maiden Grand Slam championship at the 2021 US Open. She has, however, failed to rediscover her form since then. She competed in every Grand Slam in 2022 but was forced to withdraw early each time.

The 21-year-old was formerly rated as high as World No. 10 but is now ranked 289th in the WTA rankings. She has blamed it on the attention she was unable to handle following her Grand Slam victory at Flushing Meadows.

Rick Macci, Serena Williams’ longtime coach, recently extended his hand to assist Emma Raducanu in finding her form. He turned to social media, writing:

“I was discussing and assisting @EmmaRadacanu during a podcast,” I spoke with her agency and told him that while I may assist her squad, I am not a travel coach. On both tours, I work with numerous players and coaches, and if this young girl is psychologically all in, I can help her win again and again.”

Macci said that whenever she returns to professional tennis, the Brit must find the mental tenacity to win trophies.

“During an interview, I was questioned about @EmmaRaducanu. If she is psychologically prepared and Locked Loaded, she will be in the top ten by the end of 2025. “You don’t lose the Skill, but you absolutely must have the Will,” Macci emphasized.
