Hunters in PvP become overpowered due to a bug in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 players have discovered a game-breaking bug in the game’s PvP aspect, caused by a Hunter Exotic Armor that allows a specific ability to one-shot opponents in the Crucible. This is not the first time the game has experienced bugs and glitches, but the issues since the launch of the Lightfall expansion have been numerous and concerning.

Lightfall Expansion Controversies

The Lightfall expansion has been riddled with controversies since its launch, with players discussing the awkward narrative directions and the shoehorned nature of Strand’s introductions. The conversations quickly shifted as several game-breaking bugs were discovered when players started interacting with the updated sandbox.

Misbehaving Mods and Overpowered Exotics

The PvP landscape was not exempt from these bugs, as players discovered that the Dynamo and Reaper Armor mods were generating Orbs of Power. Bungie quickly responded by disabling the misbehaving mods until the issue could be rectified.

Recently, popular Destiny 2 YouTuber, Hynra, posted a video demonstrating how Khepri’s Sting Exotic Arms can one-shot another player with the Smoke Bomb ability of Void Hunters. The video showcases the player using Khepri’s Sting-empowered Smoke Bomb to kill another player standing inside a Ward of Dawn and using a Glaive’s shield for extra defensive capabilities. The video also highlights how the lethality of this ability is related to the frame rate of the enemy, causing other issues in Destiny 2.

Bugged Exotic Leading to Other Malfunctions

Hynra’s video also demonstrates how Khepri’s Sting is leading other aspects of the Smoke Bomb to malfunction as well. Bungie had reworked Khepri’s Sting for Lightfall, enabling Smoke Bomb to grant Truesight only when it damaged enemies and not as a proximity-based trap. However, Hynra’s video showcases how players can hit their teammates or even manually shoot the Shadow Bomb with a teammate standing next to it to proc Truesight. This paints a dire picture for Hunters using this Exotic, as it is bound to share the same fate as other bugged Exotic Destiny 2 Armors.

Mid-Season Update and the Future of PvP

Trials of Osiris has introduced one of the strongest weapons in Destiny 2’s current sandbox, bringing a wave of positivity to the Crucible. With a new mid-season update slated for further changes to the PvP landscape, players can expect Bungie to fix such bugs to ensure a smooth experience. However, the constant emergence of game-breaking bugs has many players concerned about the game’s future.

The Destiny 2 community continues to keep a watchful eye on the game’s development as more bugs and glitches are discovered. While Bungie has been quick to address the issues, the frequency of these bugs raises concerns about the game’s stability.
