Players must travel to Aranshire, a destination in the South Hogwarts area, and speak with Edgar Adley to start the Absconder Encounter side quest. In Aranshire, a vendor named Adley works out of a shop stand. Players will learn that the Absconder killed Adley’s friend Milo after speaking with him. Adley will also talk about Milo’s family heirloom, a pocket watch that Milo misplaced in the cave when he ran into the Absconder. Players must defeat the Acromantula, locate the pocket watch, and deliver it to Adley to finish the quest.

Find the Absconder’s Cave entrance in the Forbidden Forest by following the quest marker.

You’ll need to cut through clingy spider webs and kill a few aggressive spiders before locating the Absconder. To find the huge Acromantula boss in its cave, keep traveling in the direction of the quest marker.

Use powerful spells that deal constant damage to the Absconder once you’ve located it, such as Incendio, Bombardo, Glacius, Flipendo, and others. Continue dodging the Absconder’s blows while doing this, and whenever necessary, heal yourself with Wiggenweld Potion. To aid you in the battle, you can also use other potions.

Look for Milo’s family heirloom pocket watch after you defeat the Absconder. It is located in the western cavern, behind the area where you battled the Acromantula. Burn the enormous spider web with Incendio to gain access to the area. The pocket watch is close to the treasure box.

Pick up the pocket watch, return to Aranshire, speak with Edgar Adley, and hand the pocket watch over. With this, the quest will be finished, and you’ll receive 180 XP and Brown Checkerboard in return.
