How Much Prize Money Set For 2023 Open Championship
ESPN revealed this year’s prize money for the 2023 Open Championship.
The 2023 Open championship, golf tournament will be played on 20–23 July 2023 at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, Merseyside, England. This is the 151st Open championship one of the major golf events.
It is obvious the prize money will also be bigger this year. According to ESPN, $16.5 million prize money is set for this year, and the winner at Royal Liverpool will take home an Open-record $3 million.
ESPN wrote, “The second- and third-place finishers at this year’s Open in Hoylake, England, will both receive more than $1 million as well, getting $1.708 million and $1.095 million, respectively,”

Last year the prize money for the Open Tournament was $14 million, with winner Cam Smith bringing in $2.5 million for winning the tournament. Jon Rahm (The Masters), Brooks Koepka (PGA Championship), and Wyndham Clark (U.S. Open) won the previous three tournaments.
