Harden faces a $389,082 penalty for each preseason and regular-season game he misses without the Sixers’ permission. Sources say the penalties will be for “failure to render services.” In addition, if the athlete skips a team practice, he will be fined at least $2,500.

Harden allegedly missed a recent team session and faces a $2.5k fine. The ten-time All-Star was in Houston, which is why he missed the Sixers’ practice, according to sources.
In a perfect world, the Sixers would guarantee that all sides of a prospective trade are happy. However, if the player they want to trade away is not available, it will be tough for them to obtain the desired swap. Harden will still need to play to demonstrate his worth to other clubs who are interested.
The Clippers are now the lone club interested in a trade for the All-Star guard. Other clubs may join in if they get a chance to see what Harden is still capable of on the floor.
