How does Damar Hamlin’s Family Feel About his Decision to Keep Playing
In the last NFL season, Damar Hamlin had a heart attack in the middle of the game against the Cincinnati Bengals and was hospitalized for some time. The whole NFL world was worried about him until the news came out that he was out of danger and there was no need to worry anymore.
After that incident, if Hamlin had decided that he wants to retire, no one would have blamed him after all if was a decision based on a life or death situation. But unexpectedly he chooses to keep playing and following his desire of playing to the end.
During the incident in NFL 2022, Hamlin was motionless on the field for several minutes and had to stay for a few days in ICU. his family was super worried all the time. And now even after all of that, he’s still playing on the field, how does his family feel about this?
Hamlin practiced in full pads on Monday. He explained to the media how his family feels about his decision to keep playing.
“I made a decision,” Hamlin told reporters. “My family, my mom and my dad, they were behind me either way I wanted to go, playing or not. But if this is the decision we’re gonna make, we’re gonna go with it and keep going. So I made my decision. I’m living with it.”
Hamlin himself also accepted that sometimes he also feels scared of returning to play, but if he gives up then it’s the end of his career so he keeps going and doesn’t want to stop until he can’t continue.
