High School Football Coach Arrested for Sideline Clash, Facing Charges
A surprising incident occurred during a high school football game in Georgia. The coach of Mays High School got arrested due to an upsetting situation on the sidelines.
This coach, in Atlanta, Georgia, allegedly got into a heated situation with one of his players during the game. It was caught on camera and has gotten a lot of attention.
The incident happened in the first part of the game between Douglas County and Mays High School. The coach from Mays High School was caught on video yelling at a player and then seemingly hitting the player in the stomach. The player got hurt and fell down in pain.
The school district quickly put out a statement about what happened. A spokesperson from the district said, “A lay coach for Mays High School, who is not a classroom instructor, is in police custody after an incident that occurred on the sideline during the school’s game this afternoon against Douglas County High School. The lay coach will be charged with simple battery and face administrative charges from the district.”
The spokesperson also said that the coach would be charged with something called simple battery and would have to deal with consequences from the school district too.
The district’s statement also talked about how important it is for them to keep all students safe and well. They said that everyone who works for the school district has to act really well and be professional.
