Head Coach Suspends College Football Team After Controversial Locker Room Rap Video

Late on Friday night, a surprising decision was made by Willie Simmons, the head coach of Florida A&M’s college football team. He decided to suspend all team activities temporarily following the release of a rap video that was filmed right in the team’s locker room.

The video, titled “Send A Blitz,” featured a local rapper known as Real Boston Richey.

Coach Simmons made an official statement on Friday night to announce the suspension. He mentioned that while he respects free speech, the language used in the video goes against Florida A&M’s core values, principles, and beliefs. Moreover, Richey was seen wearing licensed apparel in the video, which could potentially violate the school’s brand agreement.

In his statement, Coach Simmons emphasized the privilege of representing Florida A&M by wearing their iconic orange and green colors. He expressed that the young men in the football program had not lived up to the standards set before them. Nevertheless, he believes this incident will be a valuable learning experience for the players, and they will continue to work hard every day to become the best versions of themselves, making their loyal supporters, Rattler Nation, proud.

Here is the complete statement of Coach Willie Simmons-

Looking ahead, Florida A&M’s football team is scheduled to open their season on September 3, where they will face off against Jackson State.
