Pat Fitzgerald fired by Northwestern due to serious hazing allegations during the program
Pat Fitzgerald, Head Coach of the Football Team got canned by Northwestern University.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel and Zach Barnett of FootballScoop reported that University has fired his long-time tenure and big ten coach Pat Fitzgerald.

48-year-old Pat Fitzgerald was hired by his alma mater in 2006 head coaching the Northwestern University Wildcats football team since then and become the most winningest coach in the Wildcats football program’s history.
Prior to the serious hazing allegations against Pat, Northwestern University has taken action previously followed by a two-week suspension. Which seems too lenient and the President of the university announced to review his initial decision of suspension to permanently fired the coach.
Fitzgerald who is a former alumnus of Northwestern University also played for them as Linebreaker and won the All-American honors in 1990. He was hired as an assistant coach in 2001 and took over the head coach position in 2006. In his presence, the Wildcat football team won eight winning seasons, made 10 bowl game appearances, two trips to the Big Ten Championship Game, and was postseason ranked in the AP top 25 five times.
Pat Fitzgerald is the most popular head coach among the fans and team players. Fitzgerald was named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2018 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
