In Halo Infinite, there’s a special place called the Forward Operating Base, also known as FOB. It’s located on Zeta Halo and serves as a hub for players to gear up, travel faster, and display objects on a map once they’ve earned them. However, some refugees have taken over UNSC platforms in the area, so your mission as Master Chief is to dismantle them and use them to take back control of the ring.

How does Halo Infinite FOB work?

If you want to defeat the enemies surrounding you in Halo Infinite, you’ll need to use a Forward Operating Base (FOB). To do this, go to the platform console and follow the button indicator.

Once you have a FOB, you can use it to replenish your ammo and grenades. You can also request new weapons and vehicles to equip yourself for battle. The FOB is also a great way to get some backup in the form of friendly Marines who will fight alongside you against the refugees.

By obtaining a FOB, you’ll also be able to see the locations of any nearby secondary activities, like Spartan Colors and Majolner Armor, which can be really helpful for upgrading your team’s abilities and making progress in the game. Overall, having a FOB is a crucial tool for success in Halo Infinite.

At the beginning of the game, you’ll only have access to Mangoos at the vehicle station and sidekicks at the weapon station. But as you progress and gain more value, you’ll be able to unlock more vehicles and weapons.

To unlock stronger varieties of weaponry, you can destroy unique deportation targets in the open world. These unlocked weapons will be marked near any FOB. When you defeat a target, you’ll permanently unlock a unique weapon in any FOB.

Where to find FOB in Halo Infinite:

In the Hello Zeta campaign of Halo Infinite, there are a total of 12 FOBs. Each FOB begins with the capture of an exiled adversary, so it’s important to capture as many as you can in your current location. You can use maps to find the locations of these adversaries and plan your next moves accordingly.

It’s worth noting that some of the FOBs are located on split islands in the game world that are not accessible to everyone from the beginning. As you progress through the story, these FOBs will become available to you. So keep playing and exploring to unlock all the FOBs in Halo Infinite!

How to get Valor to upgrade FOB on Halo Infinite?

To unlock new weapons in Halo Infinite, you need to earn valor by completing various tasks in the game. The FOB machine is essentially an XP system for FOB, and reaching a certain level of bravery will allow you to call in reinforcements.

For example, once you achieve 1,100 valor, the combat rifle will become available. And when you reach 2,600 valor, the Vesp Aerial machine will unlock for you.

Valor can be earned in different ways and in varying amounts. Completing major plot tasks will generally yield the most valor, often several hundred heroic points. Certain secondary tasks, like clearing outposts, naval rescues, and demolishing propaganda towers, require a smaller amount of valor.

You can check your valor by hovering over the map icons and clicking on the information box. And when you open the Tacmap and go to the FOB tab, you can see which reinforcements and required items you’ve already unlocked, as well as the objects you’ll discover in front of them. Your current valor is also indicated in the top right corner of the screen.
