Gymnast Sydney Smith Calls Out Olivia Dunne on TikTok Over Copying
A potential rivalry appears to be brewing between two talented gymnasts, Sydney Smith from Southern Connecticut State and Olivia Dunne from LSU. The spark ignited when Dunne shared a TikTok video of herself performing gymnastics on the beach, a concept that seemed strikingly similar to one of Smith’s previous videos.
In response to this, Smith took to TikTok and posted her own video, playfully calling out Dunne for what she believed was the second or third instance of copying her. While Smith appreciates her fans and doesn’t mind being imitated, she believes credit for her creativity is due.
Smith said, “This is like what? The second, third time you’ve copied me? I mean, I love my fans and all, don’t get me wrong, and I don’t care when people copy me. But I feel like I should get some credit for my creativity.”

In her caption, Smith cheekily acknowledged that she, too, has drawn inspiration from others in the past. However, she sent a clear message to Dunne, hinting at the need for acknowledgment.
Here’s what she wrote on TikTok, “I mean shi I’ve copied too. But likee.”
Sydney Smith has built a strong following on TikTok, with over two million enthusiastic fans, thanks to her engaging content. On the other hand, Olivia Dunne has become a well-known name in the gymnastics world over the past couple of years.
It remains to be seen whether Olivia Dunne will respond to Sydney Smith’s TikTok challenge, setting the stage for an intriguing social media face-off between the two gymnasts.
