Gymnast Olivia Dunne Accused of Using Photoshop on Instagram Photos to Make Sexy Snaps
Social media star and college gymnast Olivia Dunne is facing accusations that she’s been editing her pictures on Instagram. Olivia, who’s 20 years old and goes to LSU, has around 4.3 million followers who love her stylish posts.
A person on Instagram named John Dorsey recently shared a video where he talks about how Olivia might be using Photoshop to change her pictures. He’s saying that in a lot of her photos, she makes her waist look thinner from the front and the back.
He showed five sets of pictures where he pointed out these things one by one. For example, he looked at a picture of Olivia standing on a balcony and said her waist looked different because of the background behind her.
John Dorsey thinks that Olivia has a big responsibility because many young women look up to her. He says, “You have millions of young women following you. It’s kind of your duty to not do this. These young women will want to look like you, and you can’t even look like you without Photoshop. So where does that leave them? If you were just a small-time account, the responsibility doesn’t really lie on you, but in this case, millions of people are watching. You should act like it.”
Olivia Dunne hasn’t said anything about these claims yet, but lots of people who follow John Dorsey have shared their thoughts.
One person wrote, “I’m glad you covered this. She is the highest earner on the NCAA circuit and obviously has a huge reach. In a sport with body image problems and eating disorders, having someone like this using edited photos to look even more perfect is bad, in my opinion.”
Another person, who is a gymnastics coach, said, “Girls can be very insecure, and this doesn’t help at all.”
But not everyone agrees. Someone else said, “She worked hard to get where she is. She doesn’t have to show unedited photos to anyone. What she’s doing isn’t hurting anyone, as long as people know what’s real.”
While all this is happening, Olivia Dunne is doing well at LSU. She’s the highest-paid female college athlete in the country, making around $3.3 million every year, according to On3. She’s also a model for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and has deals with companies like BodyArmor, Grubhub, and ESPN.
