Guide To Salvage and Make Custom Relics in Honkai Star Rail

Honkai Star Rail Relics are items that players collect in the game, similar to artifacts in Genshin Impact. These relics are powerful and valuable, but also challenging to obtain due to their dependence on Random Number Generation (RNG).

Unlike Genshin Impact, you can also get Relic EXP materials through these relics in Honkai Star Rail by just Salvaging them. In this guide, you can find out the process to salvage Relics and also how to make custom Relics in Honkai Star Rail.

Salvaging Relics in Honkai Star Rail

In Honkai: Star Rail, players can salvage their relics instead of selling them for money. Salvaging relics will turn them into Relic Experience (EXP) materials, which can be used to level up other relics. Players can salvage relics by finding the “Salvage” button on the Relic page or the Relic Upgrade page. The type of Relic EXP material received will depend on the rarity of the salvaged Relic.

You can get 3 Lost Lightdust, one Lost Gold Fragment, and 2 Lost Gold Fragments from a 2-star, 3-star, and 4-star Relic, respectively. These relic level-up materials will grant you several numbers of EXP in rewards. Here is how much you can get EXP reward on single Relic material:

Lost Lightdust- 100 EXP
Lost Gold Fragment- 500 EXP
Lost Crystal- 1000 EXP

Making Custom Relics in Honkai Star Rail

Once players have accumulated enough Relic EXP materials, they can use them to make custom relics in Honkai: Star Rail. Custom relics can be made by accessing the Omni Synthesizer after reaching Equilibrium Level 3 (level 40+). Players can create custom relics by using 100 Relic Remains and selecting any piece from any relic set. However, the main stat and sub-stat of the Relic will remain random, unless players have Self-Modeling Resin, a limited item that allows them to customize the Relic’s main stat.

Types of Relics in Honkai: Star Rail

There are six types of relics in Honkai: Star Rail, four of which are part of a normal set that can form 2pc and 4pc sets. The other two Relics form a 2pc set called Planar Ornament, which can only be farmed from the Simulated Universe. Each Relic has its own set of main stats, including:

Body

HP%, ATK%, DEF%, Crit Rate%, Crit DMG%, Effect Hit Rate%, Outgoing Healing Boost%.
