Greg McElroy Unexpected Names For ‘Big Sleeper’ To This Year’s Big Ten

College football commentator Greg McElroy surprised everyone with his unexpected pick for Big Ten’s this year ‘Big Sleeper’.

This fall Big Ten considering Las Vegas to host its Conference Championship Games with its new schools USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington.

Big Ten has already big names to conquer the upcoming conference games, including Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State. All three Schools are ranked in the top ten to start the 2023 season.

Everyone is chanting one of these three names for Big Ten big games. Former NFL player Greg McElroy has a different look. In a recent talk with Sports Center Greg said,

“I’m looking at Wisconsin. They feel so similar, to me, to what TCU had last year.”

“New coach. The previous regime? Things had just gotten a little bit stale. Now, in comes a breath of fresh air with Sonny Dykes? TCU makes a run, ends up finishing second in college football last year. Wisconsin feels somewhat similar.”

Wisconsin does fit the profile with a first-year head coach in Luke Fickell who has had success at Cincinnati. Wisconsin has the best running backs in the country in Braelon Allen, and quarterback Tanner Mordecai has a lot of experience from his time at Oklahoma and SMU.

The Badgers are ranked No. 19 to begin the year, and they have a pretty favorable non-conference schedule before they begin Big Ten play against Purdue.

So these two schools are Greg’s Big Sleeper we will see whether these two schools fulfill his expectations or not.
