The marriage of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen was well publicized since it included the NFL’s most successful player and a much sought-after model at the time. The ex-couple also has two children, Benjamin Rein and Vivian Lake.

Bundchen shared a terrifying horse-riding experience three years ago, during the COVID-19 epidemic, to PEOPLE exclusively following an event honouring her relationship with Gaia Herbs. She remembered:

“She had a fall, and she broke her arm three years ago, and then she didn’t ride. She had to put a pin.”

Gisele went on to say:

“I was there in slow motion, watching the whole thing, and it was one of the worst days of my life.” It was a stressful situation. And then she just was like, … for six months, she had to have the cast, and she had to do another surgery to remove the pin.”

What did Gisele Bundchen do in the aftermath of Vivian Brady’s horseback riding incident?

Continuing, Gisele Bundchen, the long-time wife of New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, recalled the immediate aftermath of Vivian’s injury:

“After a year, after the pin was removed, we began riding horses again.” Only the Western variety. It was simply relaxing on the beach.”

She went on to say:

“When we got to Costa Rica, we just took it easy. And then, little by little, she began riding with me on the saddle, and then she began riding alone a little bit slower.”

Vivian, on the other hand, wanted to go jumping again a few months later, and her mother agreed. She remembers:

“Sometimes I feel like we put our fears on ourselves because I was so afraid, because I had that, watching her go through all of that.” Her arm was bent when she got off the horse the first time she harmed herself. ‘Mom!’ she exclaimed. And I’m thinking, ‘Oh my God.'”But if we can show them confidence and say, ‘It’s alright, let’s go ride,’ then she feels okay, and I feel okay. She’s back at it now, and she’s loving it.”

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady divorced in October of last year, and they split custody of their children.
