Genshin Impact: Best Characters Tier List 2022
Genshin Impact: Best Characters Tier List July 2022
Genshin Impact Best characters Tier List is included in this article and will provide you with complete details of your favorite heroes and how you can optimize them on the battlefield.
The characters in Genshin Impact have a wide range of strengths and abilities. From the action game’s tier list, players can select one of 46 Genshin Impact Characters. It is quite tough for users to choose just one perfect character because each character has its own set of weapons, elementals, abilities, ascension bonuses, and constellation upgrades.
Like in other role-playing games, characters in Genshin Impact are separated into tiers based on their strength. While basic numbers and elementals remain constant, weapons, abilities, and team compositions are also important considerations in determining a character’s worth.

However, Players can select characters according to the below-mentioned tiers:
- SS Tier
- A Tier
- B Tier
- C Tier
- D Tier
Characters in the SS Tier or higher are more useful than those in lower tiers like the D Tier. Players can still select lower-tier characters, though, and use the other elements mentioned above to their advantage to win the game. The top-tier characters, however, allow players to become fully independent of their teammates and rely solely on their character’s skills.
In this guide, you will get to know the Genshin Impact Tier List’s character rankings based on their abilities.
Note: Characters are rated by tiers. They are not ranked in their particular tier.
SS- Tier Character List
- DILUC
DILUC is one of the best DPS characters in Genshin Impact who has a shield-wrecking Claymore and high-critical damage. His elemental skills, Elemental Blast, can cause massive Pyro Damage and has a 12-second cooldown, and is the best for the elemental response as it only requires 40 Energy.
- KEQING
Keqing is a Sword and Electro character with very high stats, which makes her the greatest in Genshin Impact. This character has the best Electro skills and is also an amazing melee combatant. Adding her elemental skill of teleportation across the battlefield makes her finest in every category like attack power, HP, and defense.
- VENTI
Venti is an elemental type character created by Bow and Anemo. Venti’s elemental burst produces a Stormeye through which he can throw his enemies or himself in the air by pulling them inside. Also, Venti can absorb Pyro, Electro, Hydro, and Cryo elements which resulted in a 50% increase in his damage output.
- TAO HU
When outfitted with the legitimate form, this Polearm and Pyro character can convey a strong punch. Fans expected another five-star Pyro character to be comparable to Diluc, and even though Hu Tao will be unable to convey as much damage using AoE strikes as Diluc, her single-target damage output makes her amazingly critical.
- BENNETT
Bennett is a four-star character but listed in the top tier due to his skill of providing support to the whole team with a damage boost. He can heal and deliver damage to the entire team as needed and is an all-in-one character. That is why he is the most used character in the Spiral Abyss Level.
- GANYU
Ganyu has a Bow that she can use for continuous damage to her foes. She also can fire continuos and different Cryo arrows which is her basic attack. With her AoE Elemental Skill, She can freeze her enemies and can give them immense damage.
- EULA
In Genshin Impact, Eula is a top-tier damage dealer who can utilize her Lightfall Sword to unleash large AoE burst damage and stack Grimheart to give enormous amounts of physical damage. She can inflict Cryo for Superconductor elemental reactions, which reduce the enemies’ physical resistance and enable her to cause even more damage, in addition to having an attack speed that is faster than most Claymore users.
S-Tier Character List
- XIAO
Xiao, the only Anemo character who is only focused on DPS, excels at attacking many enemies at once with his diving blows. He can quickly initiate the elemental reaction Swirl with several characters, allowing Xiao to blend in with the bulk of the lineup. Check out our Genshin Impact Xiao build to learn how to maximize the use of its elemental abilities.
- TARTAGLIA
In addition to being proficient with a bow, this Hydro character also can use melee Hydro daggers when his elemental talent is active. Unlike other Hydro characters, Tartaglia can do a lot of elemental damage. He is adaptable and can even create simple Hydro/Electro or Hydro/Cryo combos.
- KLEE
This bomber possesses a Catalyst, extra ascending Pyro damage, and a strong basic attack. She can therefore be built relatively easily for maximum Pyro damage; to learn how, see our Genshin Impact Klee build. The biggest weakness of Klee is that it could be challenging to get the right distance between her and her enemies.
- ALBEDO
Unlike the other Geo characters in Genshin Impact, Albedo can frequently trigger elemental reactions that are Geo-infused and extremely destructive. His elemental skill has a four-second cooldown and generates Geo blasts with a huge area of effect thanks to Albedo’s elemental powers.
- KAZUHA
With his exceptional versatility, Kazuha, the first Inazuma character in the game, has astounded the Genshin Impact community. If you choose the best Kazuha to construct, this Anemo Swordfighter is capable of dealing a lot of damage on its own. If you put him on a team that employs elemental reactions, you can do an amazing amount of damage.
- AYAKA
The Genshin Impact 2.0 update introduced the Cryo Sword user Ayaka to the game. This character was highly anticipated, and it’s safe to say that she lived up to expectations.
Despite not having the same damage output as Diluc or Ganyu, Ayaka can be built in a DPS position and, if necessary, can also fill the sub-DPS role. Ayaka has already had a significant influence, albeit it is too early to say where she will end up permanently.
- MONA
Mona is a hydrodynamic personality. When coupled with a Cryo teammate, Mona’s elemental blast has the potential to freeze numerous enemies at once. Additionally, she may prevent your main DPS from taking too much damage by activating her taunting Phantom. In addition, Mona has a unique evasive skill that makes her a particularly mobile Catalyst user.
- ZHONGLI
Considering the 1.3 updates, Zhongli now earns a five-star rating. Due to improvements made to Geo elemental resonance and abilities, Zhongli’s damage output has increased significantly. Zhongli can play as a DPS/Support hybrid because of his ability to do damage on par with S-tier characters and the strength of his Jade Shield skill.
- RAIDEN SHOGUN
Even though Raiden Shogun is a terrific character, her Electro element is not very potent. When compared directly to Pyro and Cryo, Electro lacks the strength to compete with the strongest elements. To get the most out of Raiden Shogun and to best utilize her elemental talent, choose a support build.
If Electro is upgraded to match the game’s most advanced features, Raiden Shogun might move up the tier list.
- ITTO
The Genshin Impact community had doubts about Arataki Itto’s potential as a Geo DPS character when he was first introduced. Geo element isn’t known for its DPS, and Itto’s abilities become more reliant on his defense. Since Itto can deal enormous amounts of damage when paired with the right characters, it is safe to say that he has surpassed all expectations. Itto’s requirement for Geo characters is the only thing keeping him from ascending to the top tier.
A-Tier Character List
- RAZOR
If you don’t already have a 5-star primary DPS, Razor is the second-best option. He wields a Claymore and has a strong attack power, making him one of Genshin Impact’s best melee fighters. His elemental abilities aid him in melee combat, but they are less useful in initiating elemental reactions.
- JEAN
Although Jean’s basic attack is subpar, her versatility as Anemo support and healer makes up for it. Her combined melee attacks, crowd control abilities, and HP restoration may be able to carry a squad even though she isn’t particularly good at any one job.
- YANFEI
Among the four-star characters, Yanfei has the third-best basic attack (tied with Rosaria). Yanfei is a typical example of a pyro character that develops strength as a result of elemental interactions.
- ROSARIA
When used either as the main source of damage or as a support for your more powerful heroes, Rosaria, a four-star character with a Cryo origin, shines in a variety of roles. Rosaria’s damage output might not be as high as that of some of the best characters, but because of how flexible her skills are, she can join a variety of teams.
- XIANGLING
Xiangling is without a doubt one of Genshin Impact’s finest Pyros, even though she may not do the most melee damage with just her Polearm. Her elemental burst can cover her in flames for up to 10 seconds, and her elemental talent summons a fire-breathing teddy bear that automatically targets her.
FISCHL, the Prinzessin of Electro Damage, possesses the special ability to call Oz, her familiar, to combat. Oz’s Electro damage output can be increased with Fischl’s constellation and skill upgrades, but this ability has a lot of potentials and is excellent for creating Electro-infused elemental reactions.
- BARBARA
This Hydro Catalyst character is a master healer despite having the lowest basic attack of any Genshin Impact character. She may heal team members individually using her elemental talent or instantly by using her elemental burst. Her healing is useless against Cryo opponents as she also creates the “wet” state.
- YOIMIYA
Yomiya’s attacks only affect a narrow area although her powers are based on explosives. As a result, Yoimiya can’t just walk through the most challenging parts of Spiral Abyss on her own; although it’s feasible, it’s not the greatest way to play her. It’s possible that, like with Zhongli, the community will make enough noise about her to influence the developers to give her an upgrade.
- KOKOMI
Given the sheer range of characters in Genshin Impact, the creators are having a hard time thinking of a brand-new type of healer that players haven’t seen before. The newest Hydro healer to join the game is Kokomi, and it appears that the neighborhood is not happy with her abilities right away. When employing the best Kokomi support build, Kokomi is a potent healer, but the current meta doesn’t justify her use.
- THOMA
Thoma performs a specialized role in two very different teams, just like the other four key characters from Inazuma. With the use of the Thoma shield support construct, you can create shields for your allies that give them continuous non-flinching status. Since you won’t be launched into the air when fighting some of the larger, slower bosses in Genshin Impact, you may afford to extend your attack animation. But Thoma’s shield isn’t strong enough to match the best support heroes.
B-Tier Character List
- SAYU
Sayu is an anemo and claymore character who can damage the rest of the gang while also healing damage already done. Like other four-star characters, Sayu struggles to distinguish herself from the best in her class, like Ganyu or Diona. The squirrel warrior may perform well in a variety of team setups if you did unlock Sayu and decide to use her.
- XINGQUI
Xingqui’s sword attacks are only fair, and his elemental cooldowns are rather long. For inflicting the wet condition on sizable enemy swarms, he isn’t the best Hydro. The present character is healed by Xingqui’s passive talent, which might be quite useful on the right team.
- XINYAN
Pyro Xinyan shares the same fundamental attack with all four-star characters. She does, however, share with Diluc the same weapon and elemental type, which is an unpleasant tragedy. Even though she is not a terrible character, Pyro and Claymore’s roles certainly eclipse hers.
- CHONGYUN
Chongyun is a fantastic Claymore melee character, but he shines as a Cryo character with an area of effect. When coupled with a potent hydro, he may instantly freeze a large number of enemies. He has a 12-second cooldown elemental blast that allows him to freeze once, twice and three times.
- SUCROSE
Alchemist Sucrose can launch enemies into the air while also causing Anemo damage with her elemental talent. She can transform all Pyro, Electro, Hydro, and Cryo elements into more damage output with her burst.
- DIONA
Diona makes great elemental support for new teams. Although Katzlein Diona’s distant damage isn’t particularly potent, she can quickly freeze a large number of foes at once using her Cryo abilities. She can also heal herself and make shields to protect herself.
- QIQI
QIQI is a strong character with a variety of high attack features. She is a combo of higher healing abilities and potential damage dealers. Unfortunately, in the current meta, there is no place for the healers, therefore, Qiqi’s capacities are drastically reduced in the higher Spiral Abyss levels.
- ALOY
For Genshin Impact’s first crossover character, the community didn’t have great expectations because free characters are infamous for performing poorly. Aloy appears to be an outlier because, in the right teams, she is an excellent sub-DPS choice. She is hampered by the machine hunter’s lack of constellations, but there is a chance that they could be added to Aloy’s story quest in the future.
- SARA KUJOU
Due to her awkward moveset, Sara is one of the most annoying characters in the game without any constellation upgrades. The centerpiece of Sara’s best Genshin Impact build is her transformation into an Electro battery. Sara falls short of competing with the other four-star DPS options. Although Sara is perfect for an Electro party thanks to her skills, this isn’t a solid enough point to expand on. Make sure your group includes at least one additional Electro character to get the most out of Sara.
- GOROU
The first character designed specifically to aid Geo characters is named Gorou. Gorou isn’t the most intriguing character as a result of his inability to work effectively with others. Gorou gives Itto, Zhongli, and Albedo enormous boosts when his abilities are combined with those of the other Geo party members. Any Geo squad must have Gorou since he can help your group in ways that no one else can.
C-Tier Character List
- NOELLE
Geo Claymore’s Noelle is a passionately defensive character. She is incredibly helpful to early-game players thanks to her healing and protection abilities. Even if her healing ability is limited, it is adequate in the absence of a more skilled healer.
- LISA
This librarian’s AoE Electro skills are excellent for beginners. She has an area of effect attack, a better base attack than the other three starting characters, and thanks to her catalyst, it’s easy to maximize her electro damage output. Even so, she will be passed by others once you have earned more Wishes.
- KAEYA
Sword-wielder Kaeya might serve as the primary DPS for rookie Genshin Impact players, but he has to be replaced as soon as practical. Kaeya’s elemental abilities aren’t as useful as those of other Cryos, although his ascension numbers give him a speedier energy recovery.
- TRAVELER
The Traveler’s most valuable skill is the ability to change their elemental type. If your team is in dire need of an Anemo, Geo, or Electro element, Traveler can help. The Traveler’s standard sword attacks don’t have a lot of power, but they may change their element at any time, making them a good choice for any team.
- NINGGUANG
This Catalyst character has a special shield ability that can be used to alter the battlefield; simply construct a massive Geo wall anywhere you like to stop enemy invasion armies in their tracks. The most recent 1.3 updates provided Geo characters with a much-needed damage boost, thus Ningguang may move up the ranks over time.
- BEIDOU
It’s challenging to build a character like Beidou. Beidou’s elemental abilities don’t become effective until her constellation level is four, while the majority of the Claymore characters deal significantly more basic damage on average.
D-Tier Character List
- AMBER
In addition to scaling with her health, Amber’s elemental ability has a long cooldown and deals only moderate damage. It requires a lot of time to manually start the explosion. She doesn’t have a particularly impressive regular attack or elemental burst. Her sole purpose should be for riddles and exploration.
