Former WWE Wrestler Mike “Mantaur” Halac Dies at 55

It’s a heartbreaking day for the world of professional wrestling as we say goodbye to Mike “Mantaur” Halac, who passed away at the age of 55.

The news of Halac’s death came from his daughter, who shared on his social media account that he passed away peacefully in his sleep. She wrote a heartfelt message saying, “It’s Michael’s daughter Demi. I’m sorry to break the bad news that my dad has passed away. He went peacefully in his sleep. He’s no longer in pain. This really hit home to lose my father, he will forever be in my heart and many others. I love you dad. Make the skies beautiful for me,”

Halac was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and started his wrestling career when he was in his twenties. He wrestled in Germany for a few years before joining the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1994.

During his time with the WWF, Halac changed his wrestling name from “Bruiser Mastino” to “Mantaur.” He had a unique character where he dressed up as a Minotaur, charging, trampling, and even making cow sounds at his opponents. It was a memorable and distinctive persona.

Over the next 20 years, Halac competed in various wrestling promotions like ECW, WCW, and the Catch Wrestling Association. In 1997, he achieved a significant accomplishment by winning the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship by defeating the renowned Jerry Lawler.

We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Halac’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
