Former NFL Star Mike Williams Passes Away at 36: NFL World Offers Prayers

Former NFL player Mike Williams has sadly passed away at the age of 36. His death was a result of a tragic accident that happened while he was working at a construction site.

Several sources have confirmed this unfortunate news. The accident occurred during his work on the construction site. Jon Scott, a reporter who covers the Buffalo Bills, shared the news, saying, “Multiple sources have confirmed to me that former Syracuse and #Bills WR Mike Williams has passed away following injuries suffered during an accident while working at a construction site.” 

Mike Williams was born and raised in Buffalo, so this loss is deeply felt by his hometown.

Mike Williams was well-known for his football skills. He played for Syracuse University and later for the Buffalo Bills. He also had a stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he made a significant impact. 

Rick Stroud, a reporter covering the Buccaneers, remembered his career, stating, “Tragic news. Former Bucs WR Mike Williams has died following injuries in a construction accident, according to a TV station in Buffalo. Former fourth-round pick of the Bucs in 2010. Had 964 yards receiving and 11 TDs and was a finalist for Pepsi Rookie of the Year.”

Fans and fellow athletes have been sharing their condolences on social media. One fan recalled Mike Williams not only as a star on the field but also as an outstanding teammate. They said, “Man…RIP Mike Will. Syracuse star who made it to the league but, more importantly, an even better teammate. Nice guy when he didn’t have to be. This is tragic.”

Another fan shared their memories, saying, “Sad news. Some of my earliest memories in the Dome were Mike Williams touchdowns. May he rest in peace.”
